About the Charter Arms Undercover Lite
Charter Arms is an American revolver manufacturer based in Shelton, Connecticut. The Undercover Lite is a lightweight, small-frame, 5-shot double-action revolver chambered in .38 Special, built around an aluminum alloy frame to reduce carry weight compared to the standard steel Undercover. It is designed primarily as a concealed carry and personal defense handgun.
How the California versions differ
- All listed versions share the same caliber (.38 Special) and barrel length (2 inches), so the primary differences are finish and grip color combinations.
- Finish options include matte aluminum, stainless steel, high-polish stainless, and black, often paired with colored grip panels.
- Color-accented variants — including the Pink Lady, Chic Lady, Lavender Lady, Santa Fe Sky, Shamrock, and Blue Diamond — feature distinctive two-tone aesthetics with colored grips or frame accents to suit personal preference.
- The Off Duty variants (53811, 53911) are positioned as more subdued, carry-focused options with simpler finishes.
- Model numbers differ across variants, which may reflect production generations or minor specification changes even when the external description appears similar.
Who it suits
The Undercover Lite is well suited to civilians seeking a lightweight, compact revolver for everyday concealed carry or home defense, and its variety of finishes makes it appealing to buyers who also value personal style.
