About the Shadow Systems DR920P
Shadow Systems is a Texas-based manufacturer known for producing premium Glock-compatible pistols with enhanced factory features. The DR920P is a compact-to-full-size hybrid pistol built on a full-size frame with a shorter slide, chambered in 9mm and designed for everyday carry, home defense, and duty use.
How the California versions differ
- Both versions share the same caliber: 9mm.
- Both versions share the same barrel length: 4.5 inches.
- The two models are distinguished by their DOJ roster SKU numbers — SS-2239-CA and SS-2240-CA — which typically indicate differences in finish, color, or grip texture options rather than functional specifications.
- Based on the roster listing alone, no differences in sights, optics cut, or frame size are confirmed between the two variants.
- Buyers seeking a specific finish or grip configuration should verify the exact details of each SKU directly with Shadow Systems or an authorized California dealer before purchasing.
Who it suits
The DR920P is well suited to concealed carriers who want a full-size grip for better control and capacity while keeping a manageable overall package, and it also serves as a capable home defense or range pistol for shooters who prefer a Glock-pattern platform with upgraded factory components.
